Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: The Fight of the Century

The Fight of the Century! Mayweather vs. Pacquiao!

After almost six years of waiting, the fight any boxing fan has been longing to see will finally happen. Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 2nd (May 3rd in the Philippines).

I wanted this fight to happen so badly ever since the buzz on the airwaves in early 2010 where Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao were at the top of the boxing echelon at that time. Coming off huge statement wins over Juan Manuel Marquez, Pacquiao's biggest rival and Puerto Rican superstar Miguel Cotto respectively.

Tale of the Tape c/o Bleacher Report

If I remember correctly, in late 2008, they had some talks of a possible match between each other but Mayweather had other plans and announced his retirement to the sport. They had fought the same opponents during that span of time. Facing boxing great Oscar de la Hoya, England's Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Marquez and Shane Mosley. Comparing the fights of Mayweather and Pacquiao to them, Pacquiao had the more impressive results against them against to Mayweather's but Money claims that they were never the same after they had been defeated by the undefeated American.

The year 2012 where I thought to be the end of a possible showdown with Mayweather that Manny Pacquiao lost both of his 2012 matches in controversial at shocking fashion. In June 2012, Manny Pacquiao fought the then-undefeated welterweight champion Timothy Bradley. Manny lost the fight in a split decision favoring the American Bradley. Six months after, Manny fought his Mexican archrival Juan Manuel Marquez for the fourth time. Manny was winning the fight until that powerful right hand of Marquez hit Pacquiao's chin and Manny became unconscious for several seconds.

In 2013, after almost a year of not hitting the ring, Manny Pacquiao returned to face young gun Brandon "Bam-Bam" Rios. The Pac-Man won in a convincing fashion, beating Rios in 12-round unanimous decision.

2014 is the year that the radar of the superfight might be get inked. It was a spectacular performance for both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather last year. Mayweather fought tough Argentinian Marcos Rene Maidana. It was then the toughest fight Mayweather had been after a while according to some boxing analysts, so tough that it Maidana deserved another match with him. After months of waiting, the rematch happened and like that first fight, it was a tough fight to call. With Maidana's great pressure and aggressiveness and Floyd's ring generalship and quick defense, it was indeed true that "styles make fights". Mayweather won the rematch via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao had his own quest for redemption when he took on Timothy Bradley in the rematch of their controversial first fight last June 2012. Manny said that he clearly won the first fight but Bradley claims that he deserved the victory. In the rematch, Manny dominated the fight in the late rounds and Bradley was never the same in the first fight where he was the aggressor of throughout the fight but Manny had the more accurate and had the more powerful punches. Manny won the rematch via unanimous decision.

Pacquiao scored one of the six knockdowns of his match against Chris Algieri.

Last November 2014, when everyone expects that Manny will fight Juan Manuel Marquez again but it turned out to be the once in a lifetime chance of young Chris Algeri, a multiple kickboxing champion before became a boxing champion last June when he fought Aleksandar Provodnikov, one of Timothy Bradley's tough opponents. It was a golden chance for Algieri to make a statement in the boxing world to try and defeat one of boxing's all-time great but Pacquiao, really, too fast, too smart, too agile, too powerful for the young Algieri. Although it ended as a unanimous decision win for Manny, the outcome didn't reflect how the fight went. Pacquiao had a record of six knockdowns to Algieri and Chris was really fighting for survival and it was more like a "run and take the money" thing in boxing for him.

After their fights, Manny and Floyd had their fair share of calling each other out to finally make this superfight happen for the fans to see. Manny posted on Twitter last December and claims that he can beat Floyd Mayweather and as of now, that tweet generated 100k+ retweets.

Pacquiao and Mayweather met each other for the first time in an NBA regular season game.

Last January 27, 2015, in a regular NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks, the two boxing greats unlikely met at half-time of the game and exchanged phone numbers and had a private meeting at Pacquiao's hotel in Miami after the game. I felt that the odds of making the fight happen became stronger.

Until yesterday, February 21, 2015, early morning here in the Philippines, Floyd confirmed that the mega fight will be on May 2nd! Manny followed the confirmation on his Twitter account, "I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight that they have wanted for so many years." "I dedicate this fight to all the fans who willed this fight to happen and, as always, to bring glory to the Philippines", the Pac-Man added.

On that day, I was so elated and euphoria was all-over me. I've waited so many years for this fight to happen and it was a historic day really when they announced it. It will be even more historic when the two best fighters of their generation will be in one ring together. Oh boy, I really can't wait to see that and it will be one of the fights that will be relive for future generation. I cannot miss this fight in my lifetime. With such jubilation and excitement building up to the fight, everyone is now so pumped and cannot wait for May 2nd.

For the fight itself, I expect a very close match between the two. Mayweather has not fought a southpaw in a long while and based on those results against southpaws, he was not comfortable against them but with his ring IQ and defensive prowess, he can somehow make a move on Manny, who is an aggressive boxer-puncher with punches in different awkward angles that can pressure Mayweather. Floyd hasn't faced a fighter that is powerful, speedy and aggressive as Manny Pacquiao so this should be an exciting fight even for the neutrals of the sweet science. As what the old boxing saying goes that "Styles make fights" and indeed it is one. Defense-oriented vs. Offense-oriented.

In terms of the outcome of the fight, it would be tough to predict yet but as a Filipino, of course am devotedly rooting for Manny on this one but I am wary of Floyd's capability in the ring but Manny has a very huge chance of making that 47-1 record to Floyd.

Come on Manny! I cannot wait for the Fight of the Century!

#worldcup fever!

As I write this blog, it's just 7 hours away 'till the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. I just simply can't wait for the #worldcup to start. Last World Cup in South Africa in 2010, few Filipinos are anticipating the most watched and the biggest sporting event in the world but this time, with football part of the sporting disciplines Filipinos are into today because of the Azkals putting football back in the Philippines in their historic semifinals finish in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, I expect more football fans to watch this momentous event. Plus, more people will be aware of the World Cup, with an estimated viewers of 2 billion all over the world, 10 times bigger than the SuperBowl and beating the Olympics. Football is really the sport of the world. A sport that is more than a sport, a religion. That's why I love football so much. The passion, the intensity, the atmosphere of the stadium, the drama, and the euphoria for goals, goals and more GOALS!

The only one trophy the world going nuts for, the FIFA World Cup trophy.

Before the tournament kicks off 9 hours from time (around 4:00 am, Manila time), I have predicted every bracket in the FIFA World Cup in the EA Sports Interactive Bracket and here's my prediction. I am torn between four teams, Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain but I made my decision that Germany might win their 4th World Cup title.

I predicted Germany to win their 4th World Cup title.

But I decided that because of their capability, line-up and experience but actually, I am rooting for both England and Japan. A little bit of Brazil because I root for them last World Cup so my heart still have Brazil in it plus the fact that they are the host this year and count those stars in their crest, five of them. They won five FIFA World Cups and they can possibly add a sixth star. I root for Japan because I love their style of play, short passing, tiki-taka. Under Zaccheroni-kantokun, they are one of the dark horses in the World Cup plus the fact that I know the players and how they play, I actually follow this national team like England and the fact that my Japanese influence is still there like watching anime and reading manga and listening to Japanese music. I support England because I am a huge fan of English football, following the Barclays Premier League for years and although that England's national team, The Three Lions, is a huge disappointment for years in every World Cup and EUROs, because of the pressure and expectations from their compatriots back home in England because of their star-studded line-up, I believe that they can still prove that they can be one of the best!

Well, I am just stoked and excited to watch the 2014 FIFA World Cup now and may the best team win! Enjoy life! Enjoy football! Enjoy 31 days of the FIFA World Cup! Ciao!

Here's some music from the Official World Cup album by Shakira. She's back with a new sports anthem!

The End of an Era... NOT.

Today, I was so excited to see Manny Pacquiao back in the ring because not only he makes boxing exciting but the whole world as well, including his homeland, the Philippines. I even have my new MP t-shirt from Nike ready to wear prior to the fight with American undefeated boxer, Timothy Bradley. I even have less sleep this day because I was so excited even though this fight, realistically, is not a MEGAFIGHT material. Watched Denmark upset the Dutch and Germans prevailed against Portugal at the EUROs and forgot to rest. I was so stoked because after years of me and my father watching in a free public viewing room inside the city's sports complex where we always suffered too much perspiration to the heat inside the said establishment and with tons of people inside, we always discomfort but this time, nice atmosphere with a nice drink, good food and satisfying entertainment, the undercard that is.

The undercard was really exciting that almost every fight has a knockout result. We saw an old boxer rose to fame with a stunning upset in the name of KO king himself, Randall Bailley beating young prospect Mike Jones, suffered his first loss and another controversial fight with the legendary Jorge Arce and young Jesus Rojas involved with a no contest.

That was when the main event came early because of the last undercard ended in no contest in Round 2. We learned that Pacquiao wasn't ready with his gloves and mitting because he was focused on watching the Game 7 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. Yes, he finished the game and he made Bradley and the audience wait for a long time. I just thought that time that it might caused something to the match with Manny, losing his focus and stuff. Also, I thought that how would this fight go because there were rumors that Team Pacquiao having their own ways. Conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, left the Philippine training camp weeks ago and said he would prepare Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr first because the younger Chavez's fight was just a week away that time. Also, there were rumors of miscommunication between the members including Coach Freddie, Ariza, and others but Roach said eventually that everything was going smoothly.

The national anthems were much anticipated as well with AI Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez singing the U.S. anthem. The fight was minutes away, everyone was so pumped in the cinema, including me and joined along with Michael Buffer's famous line, "LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!"

Bradley was great in the first two rounds, beating Paccquiao to the jab and power punches and it seems that Manny can't get into Bradley and Bradley's stalking tactic payed off. Three rounds after, Manny got his groove with barrage of power punches on Bradley. It seemed that Bradley can hadle Manny's punches but he looked hurt with those 4-5 punch combinations by Manny including powerful hooks to the jaw. Manny though, couldn't land a powerful body shot on Bradley with those rounds. Three rounds left and Bradley woke up and again showed what he did in the early rounds. Stalk Manny and land the power punches. I just noticed that Manny landed a few punches and didn't answer back with some of Bradley's combinations that mostly blocked by Manny.

It was decision time. I was so nervous because it was an another close call. Back-to-back close fights for Manny. So, 115-113 for Pacquiao, 115-113 for Bradley, and 115-113 all to the winner by SPLIT DECISION... and there... we're all disappointed because the fight didn't reflect the result. I was shouting, pumping my chest and threw my hat away. Others were saying "NOOOOO" aloud. A woman beside me cried. Well, Manny hurt Bradley but Bradley didn't hurt Manny even though he was aggressive in some rounds. I don't know if the judges were basing the tempo of the fight or the scoring of the punches landed?

I bet that in jail, Mayweather is happy & so are the Mexican fans. Also, gotta love the "Call Me Maybe" jokes about Pacquiao & Bradley. LOL. The most annoying picture of the day: Nanalo tapos sabay 'wheelchair'? Bwiset.

Just so disappointed, up to now but I guess we all have to move on and listen to Bradley on what he said three days ago that the rematch will be on between him and the Pac-Man. So, I guess I will definitely gonna watch that. I guess going back to school tomorrow with a smile on my face... NOT! LOL.

Crab Mentality and Racism in the Philippines

Time: 1:54 a.m.
Where: In the couch.
Now Playing: "Heart in Your Heartbreak" by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

---

Well, like most of the 92 million people living in the Philippines, I am proud to be a Filipino. I love our motherland, our culture, our natural resources. Before, we were one of the leading nations in Asia during the Marcos regime but decades after, we were left behind. Why? It's merely because "crab mentality" is all around us up to now. Which do you prefer? Choc-nut or Hersheys? There's the meaning of it in terms of the world of business where most of us realistically chose to buy foreign-based things compared to our locally made ones. Crab mentality isn't just all about marketing but it can go social as well. Crab mentality is one of the Philippines' major problems in both the business and social issues.

In other parts of the world, "racism" is really unacceptable and the world changes it's views about it and the judgement is not on the skin color, it's on the characteristics and here in the country, most of the Filipinos are not aware how racism goes around the world, on how big the consequences if you deal with racism? Recently, an ESPN reporter was sacked after making a racial slur on Jeremy Lin on his article. Luis Suarez and John Terry had their problems too. Thanks to Martin Luther King, he changes the world but still racism is a problem around the world and how we can fight it? I just simply can't deal with these problems even up to this.

Recently, the Azkals made history in Philippine football by winning their best finish yet in a high-caliber tournament they participated and that's the AFC Challenge Cup. They also made history by getting in to the semi-finals of the said tourney and eventually finished 3rd place. While the Azkals celebrate, I watched Unang Hirit, Wednesday morning at March 14 and I can't believe that I am speechless. Arnold Clavio just said some harsh words along with racial slurs around our national team. "Hindi kayo kayumanggi", "nagpapanggap lang kayong mga Pilipino". Mr. Clavio was one of the most respectable journalists in our nation until this happened. The report was the making of the semi-final of the Azkals and he just talked about the alleged sexual harassment which was totally unrelated and he expressed his frustrations about it and caught on national TV. Yes, we can express our opinions but he just crossed the line and like what I said earlier, racism is UNACCEPTABLE. It's not just the Azkals became a victim here but the OFWs sons and daughters who have found relationship with other nationalities, their hardships to bring the Philippines growing in terms of growth at nabale wala dahil sa mga sinabi nito ni Crabio and it's just plain unacceptable.

I saw some comments about the issue of both the 'alleged' sexual harassment and this 'Crabio' issue and some of the fans understand that racism and crab mentality is unacceptable but here's my take on this situation:

If Angel and Lexton did disrespect Ms. Ramos then punish them both but I just don't know why Ms. Ramos wants even to punish all the Azkals, just because they laughed. Is it me or this woman is bitter and tries to bring our national team down? Talking about crab mentality here and "ang babaw talaga ng reasoning niya". I know that sexual harassment is inexcusable here but I think she's going on public display of attention here. I am not judging her because it's pretty clear that she wants all the Azkals to suffer where only 2 lang naman ang alleged. Crab mentality talaga. Gusto pa sa AFC agad mag-reklamo at hindi sa PFF. She really wants attention. She's using the popularity of the team to down them and others seem to support her of making the Azkals down. I just simply wish that this issue resolve shortly so we can move on. I will continue to support our national team and show my Filipino pride. I don't mean to be racist at this one but I will say this for the others to understand "na mas may pusong Pinoy pa ang mga lumalaban para sa bayan, half man or hindi, kesa sa inyong walang sawang nagbabatikos upang ibagsak ang ating koponan."

While I was busy playing FIFA 12 yesterday, and using TweetDeck at the same time, I just saw a tweet that somehow shocked me but not really surprising. Mixed. By the way of shocked, because it's all of a sudden, by way of not surprised that people of Libya had hatred of him throughout the years. Moammar Gaddafi was killed yesterday and I saw the amateur video just moments ago. It was severely brutal and totally manhandled Gaddafi. With people punching him, stabbing him, and he was like a vegetated man. I am somehow sad because of the people of Libya chose to kill him and not suffer, I mean, they should've not kill Gaddafi, he should suffer more in the prison but they let them suffer and eventually died by wounds especially in his head and body area where he was smashed by something heavy in his head and shot a the body. I mean that was brutal for what I saw in Al Jazeera, and Al Arabiya.

42 years ago, Gaddafi step up as Libyan president and the people of Libya helped him to get in that position by ousting his predecessor. 42 years later, he was killed by the civilians who had a huge hatred on him for 2 decades. I can compare Gaddafi to two people, Osama bin Laden and Ferdinand Marcos. The longest reigning president of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos, who spent 21 years on the MalacaƱang Palace, he did a tremendous job as president. Because of him, we had highways and the implementation of the MRT and LRT that made our country at that time the most advanced country behind Japan. Also, because of him, we lost some of rarest Gold that could eventually make our country rich with that huge amount of resources, it was like finding a oil depot. Also, because of him, corruption started to be a way of life in the political world and people wanted for Marcos to step down and he did because of the mighty People Power we started. Yes, I didn't exist when the revolution started but every Filipino knows the story behind the EDSA People Power. Now, Gaddafi and Osama. They both did a devilish thing that people from all over the world couldn't forget. We all know what happened on 9/11, right? Ten years after, Osama was found in Pakistan and killed. Euphoria was suddenly felt in the streets of U.S. of A! Same for Gaddafi. He was the Public Enemy # 1 on Libya and he was pummeled, crushed, and just brutally dismantled by the anti-Gaddafi men. I was saddened on how those people just manhandled Gaddafi yet I was happy for the people of Libya that they can liberate themselves and start over again what they missed in the world community.

I just wish that here in our country, we will learn this valuable lesson especially to the powerful men of the country. Our president, senators, and so on. Like what the famous Spiderman saying goes, "With great power comes great responsibility."

Well, I am one of the persons who envies my friends that has an iPod, or an iPhone, or the latest iPad because I know that it'll accompany me to my daily life. Like for the instance of the iPod. I am passionate with music like everyone else so I gotta listen to my favorite bands and keep those new releases in. Plus, if I have one, I can scrobble it directly to my Last.fm account. If I have an iPhone, I could do it all in one gadget. I can text, call, play apps, play music, play video, surf on the net and more. I had an experience using an iPhone with my college friend Sean and it was cool. Same goes if I have an iPad, it's like the miniature laptop if you ask me. All you gotta do is slide, plus it's convenient. That's how Apple products catches my attention all these years especially with new releases.

So, I heard yesterday morning that the co-founder and former CEO of Apple Steve Jobs passed away. Well, my initial reaction was shocking because I haven't received any news from him lately since he unveiled the iPhone 4. When I heard he was battling Pancreatic Cancer for seven years, I was like... all these years of presenting latest from Apple, the man behind the popular black shirt with jeans while on Apple HQ, was all this time suffering yet he was still doing his therapy and Jobs had a liver transplant back in 2007.

Here it is. The young Steve Jobs and the old Steve Jobs. What is the difference? In my opinion, nothing. No comparison. Steve Jobs just grow old but he still have that creative mind of his and made people convenient with their daily life. He's like the Thomas Edison of the modern era if you ask me. He's truly one of my inspirations.

Jobs helped us to make our lives easier through his creative mind and with a heart of wanting to see the world a better place. It's his passion in technology. Since he invented the Mackintoshhome computer and I was astounded with that when I saw the video of him releasing Mackintosh. The personal computer speaks for itself . That's what I saw in my two eyes. Even though it's old. I was amazed because at that time, there were no forms of communication, besides television to people, telegram and telephone, but Jobs and the other 1984 men changed it, for the sake of the bright future ahead of their time. They even edges the 1989 version of the home computer. That was astounding.

I remember when I watched on CNN on October 6th, that was a Thursday, they featured a video wherein Steve Jobs was one of the speakers for Stamford University's commencement exercises on 2005. Included to his speech was his views on death. The video below.

Steve Jobs physically maybe gone but people felt like he's here with us by using the Apple products he invented throughout the years in the modern era like the iPod, iPhone, and the iPad. Steve Jobs is one of my inspirational people. He had a tremendous contribution to the technology world. Thanks a lot for everything. RIP Steve Jobs. You left your mark on our desks, on our ears and in our hands. Thank you for bringing the future to everyone of us. You are a visionary from Apple to the whole wide world. I may not have any of Apple's products but I feel every people that somehow touched their lives with an iPod, an iPhone or iPad. iSad! iPray!

"Papa"

Today is the 19th of June. Six billion people knows that this day is Father's Day, where this day is especially made for our dads, because they are an inspiration to their children, including me. For their dedication on work or whatever they do best in order to give their family members whatever they need. They fill what's missing and I'd say, I can borrow the phrase "Moms know best" and changed it to "Dads knows best... too!" Not only moms. Actually, "Parents know best". Both of them. Some times, there are misunderstandings in our family, that may lead to a broken family if there is no communication between the members, I'll still try to make it up to them.

Anyway, my dad is still sleeping and I am a usual vampire but yesterday, he made us "Sinigang" and it was delicious. He is like the cook of the house, but yeah, my mom kept saying every time that she is the best cook in this house. LOL. That was just naturally what she's saying pero alam niya na gusto niya talaga luto ng Papa ko. My characteristics of my father? He's a joker, magaling sa mga banat. Well, I always see my father's humor in reunions and slightly in home. He can be serious at some times, but that serious as in, in vital situations, when he helps the three of us in our need. Minsan naawa din ako sa Papa ko kasi he's like a "Houseband" kahit nagtratrabaho siya but I do lend him a hand in daily chores pero siya sa mega weekend chores. Hindi kasi siya sanay na may tumutulong sa kanya even if we insist na tulungan siya. He always kept saying na "Magpahinga lang kayo, ako nang bahala". Even at his mid life, he's still doing the tough laundry, fixing eletronic appliances and stuff. Nakuha ko sa kanya ang pagiging sporty, I mean not physically, but being a huge sports fan. We both love basketball, PBA siya, NBA ako pero we're both Lakers and Gin Kings fans pero pag sa ibang games na hindi involve ang fave teams namin, I oppose what Papa supports. LOL. I am a huge fan of football a long time ago, Manchester United is the club to be exact (Take that Liverpool, City) pero it seems my dad likes it too since he saw the Azkals in action. Football was not that popular here when he saw the Azkals.

So, I am not that type of person who expresses affection in any place, especially here in the Internet world but I know he knows that we love my Papa and Papa love us. Again, Papa, thanks to all and Happy Father's Day.

"150"

We see Jose Protacio Rizal in monuments, parks, textbooks and in the Internet. We are all familiar on his story, on what he did for our country. Because of his heart-wrenching words in his novels, poems and other forms of literature, he fought the Spaniards and after that, led to "The Revolution". Yes, we know all of that but after almost two centuries, did our country change? I mean in the aspects of economy, system and stuff. Why did I even ask this question? Because of Rizal's dedication to protect the Filipinos, also because of his mind, his words and his actions. "Sa isip, sa salita at sa gawa", ito ang dapat nating gawin. Rizal serves as an inspiration for a long, long time and we must not answer that we know Rizal that he is the guy in Luneta Park, the guy in the textbooks or the guy in school paintings, we must be proud that we are Filipinos. For me for example, I can be proud that I am a Filipino by buying Filipino-made products, supporting our local movie industry, following the rules, regulations and laws of the country and doing some good deeds, either small or big.

If Rizal fought for our country by doing those vital things step-by-step and sacrificed his life in order for the people to think that we can step out of the shadow and move as a nation. That Rizal blood in us is why we have this People Power, in 1986, and soon followed by other countries like South Korea, Tunisia, and recently, Egypt. We, Filipinos, are very expressive to issues and we fight for the right to freedom. That's why we are passionate because of Rizal. Today is his 150th birth anniversary. So make it special, do something good to help our country. Rizal might be happy. If Rizal lives at his 30's at this generation, we might witness a cruel world that he can change.

Maligayang Kaarawan, Rizal! ¡Feliz cumpleaƱos! Rizal!

Earlier today, I received the news, thanks to CNN, that Osama bin Laden, the leader of the global terrorist group, Al Qaeda, was killed in Attottabad, Pakistan, just 120 miles away from the capital, Islamabad. According to sources, the town Attottabad was actually a populous town, urbanized, with buildings and everything and the American troops were searching in the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan where you can find caves, and stuff where they thought Osama would be but instead, in one of the suburban towns in Pakistan. He lived in a mansion there and this just in, I heard while I am watching the Press briefing and yeah, some laugh time, Osama used a woman shield just to protect himself. ROTFLMAO. He was quickly thrown out at a sea it is merely because that it might cause a huge following by the Muslims there and create a shrine.

A huge euphoria is going on in the United States of America and I can feel it. Actually in my point of view, it is truly justice has been done for them. If you rekindle, Osama was behind the 9/11 bombings in New York where thousands were pronounced dead. At first, I didn't know why Osama did that when I was eating and preparing for school a decade ago. I still remember that when I heard that news. Anyway, every wrongdoing has a definite reason. It's like stealing a candy to a baby. Why did the big child take it? Because he wants it more than the baby does. And so the baby cried. It's like that, I mean, why? Just why? I also learned that there was a certain history about it when I watched CNN. Osama just wanted to have revenge on the United States because the country supported the Soviet Union when it was existed during the 70's where the CIS invaded Afghanistan, Osama's third home after being kicked out and revoked citizenship in Saudi Arabia and forced to leave Sudan.

He totally kept mentioning about that plan since 1998 and three years after, it was truly a happy moment for sure to him. So, that's why and yeah, Americans were truly felt that they have the side of justice. I realized that bin Laden's life is all about revenge. He had a very good life. I mean, his family was rich, millionaires to be exact and he turned back to fight and later became a terrorist and found Al Qaeda. Now, I will not find any video of brains of YouTube anymore because Osama bin Laden is gone for good. Also, Muslims should be happy about this, too. Nothing to be saddened for. Why? Because he is a disgrace in your religion, and I know that Osama has a huge following and I understand that because all what his done is to fight for Muslim's freedom but in a wrong way. Why kill innocent people? Right?

The American troops should be also ashamed that they killed numerous innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan, where they didn't find any traces of Osama where the rumors said that Osama was hiding from those said Gulf countries. Iraq was a mess in early 2000's and up to now where numerous suicide bombings were reported almost like everyday I think but they are getting their freedom step-by-step.

To Osama, however, wherever you are, just look at the Americans right now, rejoicing, I mean, the world is rejoicing. Ecstatic, euphoric, joyful moment. You should've regret those things a long time ago. Well, I must say, that you must go to HELL. Not being harsh but it such that I feel those Americans on what happened and they waited a decade just to claim justice at hand. That's all on how I feel on what just happened to Osama bin Laden.

Just shocked. I was just greatly shocked on what happened. You see, when you often heard the news that Japan was hit by an earthquake, you always said to yourself that it's no big deal because they are prepared, construction-wise, and well-organized in terms of what to do and what not to do. They are a developed country and used their garnered status to implement these kinds of preparation because they know that their country is an earthquake-prone one. Like the Philippines, Japan is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and we belong in the so-called Ring of Fire where most active volcanoes found and with different plates.

Saturday afternoon, I was listening to the radio, in FM, while I was listening to some great modern alternative music, they announced that Japan was hit by an earthquake... again. Why again? Because they just hit by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake last March 9, two days after that great 8.9 magnitude earthquake and the powerful tsunami along. When I heard the news, I said to myself, "It's nothing", "Wala lang yan", "Pretty normal to them", pero when I saw on TV lately, I said to myself again, "Oh. My. God." I just remembered that my cousin is in Japan right now and I wonder how she's doing right now. I just merely wonder and yeah, even everything famous in Japan you know was questioned for the likes of Maria Ozawa, the PokƩmon animation team and other famous persons I know in Japan.

The rice field turned into a debris field, a pile of junk, a wave full of cars, roofs, houses, everything washed away in Sendai in Miyagi prefecture. Many lives lost and a long term of recovery ahead of them unless if every country pledge some assistance to them. If you notice the family picture below, you will be touched after seeing this picture on the aftermath. It's like where are these two Japanese after the quake and tsunami? Reminds me when I watched Anderson Cooper 360 yesterday and he saw a wedding picture. You read or know that kind of feeling? Pure grief. Where are there two or the others? Just take a look.

Added to that is the continuing blast in four of the nuclear power plants near the Miyagi prefecture. It is very dangerous to get near the nuclear power plants, it'll cause more casualties. That's why the world is asking again, should we put nuclear power plants in your respective countries? There are other ways to get power in my opinion, we should not rely on the nuclear power plants.Just pure chaos right now in Japan.

I am just so shocked and I didn't expect this to happen, actually everyone of us didn't expect this to occur at all. Majority of us can only do to help Japan recover is to send their prayers to the victims, and to the entire nation of Japan. We a catholic country after all. So, my sympathy and prayers to island nation of Japan.

Well, it was 6 years before I was born, there was a huge change in the people's eyes that they see the future will be bright and to see that future was for Marcos to step down after 21-year reign. They were tired of poverty, of corruption, of stealing, of conniving, and all of that. It was a peaceful protest, yellow everywhere and it all ended as part of history that used to be followed by other countries such as Germany, Czech Republic and the recent Egypt. Bahrain, Yemen and Libya continues to do the same thing but yeah, it's sort of violent compared to our revolution that the world saw first. Democracy.

I wasn't born before 1986 but since I was a kid, I know the true story of what happened from the 1980's up to the day of EDSA I Revolution. It was all about Ninoy vs. Ferdinand. Ninoy had to sacrifice his life for the good of the country and yet, this country is a free country.

I just want to ask one thing though, after 25 years of making history, what happened to our country after 5 administrations. Did we obtain the "change" that we were looking for 25 years ago? Yes, four administrations tried but I must say, the possibility is in its little chance. Yes, the peso is higher, inflation rate goes on a rose, major commodities in all-time high, tuition fees in a major uprising, and stuff. It just worsen what the Philippines was before. Two pesos is to one U.S. dollar, 2nd most advanced country in the 1960's next to Japan, low prices of the major commodities and all of that.

If we try to commemorate what just happened 25 years ago, we can still remember that we fought for it and we continue to fight for it. I was referring to the major problems we need to surpass, for the sake of our people and our Motherland.

Well, if you have dreams you want to obtain, or changes you want for our country for the good of the many, why don't you just be inspired and take a look at the EDSA Shrine. Just imagine how hundreds and thousands of people rushed for one goal. Democracy and Change.

Thank God I Am A Filipino!

Oh my. It was a shocking day today. I am so deeply ashamed on what just happened today. Kind of speechless and with deep affection but nevertheless, no Filipinos were killed but the innocent Hong Kong tourists that just wanted to vacate here and enjoy the wonders of the three stars and a sun nation.

It happened at around 10:30 a.m. where at that time, I was sleeping gently after a fierce battle of a computer game with one of my buddies at around 3-4 a.m. When I woke up at 3 p.m., my father was watching all along on the TV and wondering that something is unusual because he didn't watch the news at that time, he was supposed to watch his favorite noontime show but alas, he was tuning in to the news about the hostage taking in the Quirino Grandstand. He told me some details and I felt so concerned a bit because I seen it before. Last 2007, the same hostage taking on the bus happened. At first, I was confident that it will obtain a great outcome but the opposite happened.

Rolando Mendoza, a former police senior inspector, was the gunman. My sister told me that the story goes like this. The said Hong Kong tourist bus was in Fort Santiago. The photographer inside the bus counted the tourists inside and it was all 21 of them, that made a total of 25 including the 21 tourists and the 4 Filipino tour guides, and photographers and the driver respectively. All of a sudden, Mendoza was in the fray. He went to the said vehicle and ask if this bus needed security and yet the photographer said that they don't need any security nor bodyguard at all but what the heck, you can join, he said kind of like that.

They made into the Quirino Grandstand and that's what happened. Mendoza explained to the passengers that he was doing this to fight for what I want to obtain and is to go back to his job and lift his cases and he requested for the passengers to cooperate and he will NOT KILL ANYONE. Really? He was just making a threat to the Ombudsman but what happened? Then this driver of the bus escaped and told the media that all of the passengers are dead, which we go to the horrendous Manila SWAT team, they were alarmed and bash the hell out of the windows and fire some gunshots inside the bus which I think the cause of some fatalities including Mendoza's death.

If only the police shoot the TV inside the bus where it showed what happening outside so Mendoza wouldn't know what happened outside. C'mon. The policemen couldn't even get the dude's brother into a policecar. How'd you expect them to deal with an actual hostage situation. Oh my. I am goddamn speechless at this very moment. Was I screaming for God's sake?

The whole world saw it, even me. I saw it on some local and international news stations like GMA, ABS-CBN, CNN, BBC, ChannelNewsAsia, CCTV, RT, and so on. It was truly a lesson to us Filipinos especially the Philippine National Police. Sana hindi na maulit ito and we are praying for it. International people have have negative thoughts about our country which is BAD but we can rise up and regain the good image that we deserve.

Again, God bless the souls of the hostage taking victims. We Filipinos are great and professional people and I know it. We are also aware of what will happen, we are deeply concerned of what our fellow countrymen did horrendously.

PNOY to Filipinos: "Lahat ng pagkakataon may pag-subok tayong daraanan. Lalo tayong magsumikap dito na hindi mauulit ang sitwasyon."

August 1 is "The Day of Rekindling".

Time: 5:24 p.m.
Now Playing: "On Melancholy Hill" by Gorillaz.
Where: In my sister's bedroom.

Why did I entitled the very first day of August "The Day of Rekindling"? If you are a Filipino, learned some history lessons, and does like the color yellow, you might probably know why it is. No seriously, these requirements are jokes but it's pretty obvious why did I call that. It's the day to commemorate Corazon C. Aquino, the mother of Democracy in the Philippines. The world witnessed what she had done to change the image of the Filipinos in the four corners of the globe.

It all started during 1983 where Benigno Aquino Jr., he is the Father of Democracy in the Philippines, fought for democracy during the Marcos regime and mostly accused Ferdinand Marcos about their hidden riches which they stole in people's taxes. He fought for so long and ran for presidency and yet he lost to Marcos. The people of the Philippines were not convinced so they continue to oppose Marcos with that curious result of that said election. Ninoy, however, was arriving in the Manila International Airport at that time when suddenly he was gunshot and he was down, down at his homesoil, he made it yet it was a sacrifice I must say because he returned home with one voice, that we must unite to fight dictatorship, and corruption. So, it was truly a sad day for all Filipinos when he died August 21, 1983. I think more than a million gathered together during the burial day and I wish I witnessed that but sadly, I wasn't in existence yet.

People started to let people sign to be part of 1 million signature petition for Mrs. Aquino to run for presidency which is the beginning of the true history. She did run and a rumored she won and another rumored Marcos won via majority votes or a slate. She was a then mother turn president when Marcos flee to be exiled in Hawaii. She truly changed our country when the 20-year dictatorship ended.

"Kapag nagkaroon ng demokrasya ang Pilipinas, pwupwede na akong mawala sa mundo." That's the quote that I will never forget that she said during her last interview and she was suffering with colon cancer (I hate cancer, seriously). She died August 1, 2009 at 3: 18 a.m. and the Cory Magic is still here.

Anyway, when she died, it was all silence and pure commemoration to what she had done to the Philippines and I kind of figuring out something weird yet it is true. I was truly crying when I was on the bus when I heard the news on my way home after a grueling day on Mapua during that day.

She died on 08-01-2009, right?

She died at 03:18 a.m., right?

Try gather all the numbers around. ---> 080120090318. There.

Remove all the zeros. ---> 8129318.

I jumbled it and here's the result. ---> 8211983. If you see it as 8-21-1983, that's Ninoy's date of death. What a coincidence and it is truly a magic for Philippine Democracy, they united again after 26 years.

And now, his son, Noynoy will continue his parents' legacy and hopefully we will recover after the nine-year inconsistent governance, which caused for lack of funds and bigger problems in corruption and poverty.

We will never forget you, Cory.

Well, if you are living in the Philippines, you might know what event or events will take place this Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Of course it will historic and in fact a start of change in the Philippine political scene. A transition of power, as they say on this day. It will be the Inauguration of the 15th President and Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, Benigno "Noynoy" Simeon Aquino III, and Jejomar "Jojo" Binay respectively. I must say that this will be a historic day for the most of us but after that day, it will be a blowout inside MalacaƱang Palace.

Also, not to mention, another thing that comes to the Filipinos on that day is the opening of the much awaited "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse", which is the third installment of that Stephanie Meyer novel series. So, it's like this, the people of the Philippines has to choose one event to attend, unless if you're a die-hard Twilight fan that you wanted to see the movie on the actual opening date, which is the day Noynoy is scheduled to speak for his inauguration. Well, most of us are I think in the focus for this momentous event, I meant the inauguration of our new leaders.

As I am typing this third paragraph, I am watching the live coverage of the special coverage for the inauguration but not the real inauguration yet. Probably, in the morning but back to the topic. I am quite confused on what to do on this day but I made my mind that it is for the good of our country if every Filipino witnessed another chapter in the country's history. So, maybe, I can watch the Eclipse later this week, on the first week of July or two just to witness Noynoy's speech and also some musical parade and the President's surprise number. So, I am kind of drowsy now and this is my first blog since the election last May 10. It's been a while. Good day to the Philippines and "Mabuhay ang mamamayang Pilipino."
